Related Info Tab - Inventory Module

The Related Info page includes panes for Specifications, Alternate Items, and Assets:

  • Specifications — Lists any specifications associated with the inventory item.

  • Alternate Items — Lists alternate items that can be ordered in the event the inventory item is unavailable.

  • Assets — Lists all assets that are linked to this part.

ClosedSpecifications

The Specifications pane of the Related Info page lists all specifications defined for the inventory item. 

ClosedField Descriptions

The following fields are displayed in the Specifications pane:

  • Name — name of specification as defined in the Specifications module

  • Text Value / Date Value / Numeric Value — current value of the specification

    The current value can be listed in the Text Value, Numeric Value, or Date Value fields, dependent on the type of specification.

  • Minimum / Maximum / Optimum — the minimum, maximum, and optimum settings for numeric specifications

    When users enter readings outside the min / max settings, the specification is listed in bright red.

  • WO on Failure — not applicable to the Inventory module

  • Track Changes — marks whether or not changes made to specifications should be tracked for reporting

ClosedAdd Specification

To add a specification for the inventory item:

  1. Click the Add button above the Specifications section.

    A window opens.

  2. Locate the specification you want to add.

  3. Click the specification you want to add.

    The Specifications window opens.

  4. Complete the fields.

    Note: The WO on Failure and WO on Failure Procedure fields are not applicable to the Inventory module.
  5. Choose between two options:

    • Click the Apply button.

      The window closes. The specifications lookup page appears with the newly defined specification listed in the My Selection(s) pane.

    • Click the Apply / Close button.

      The Related Info page appears. Skip to the last step.

  6. Continue selecting additional specifications as needed (steps 3-6).

    To remove a record that has been added to the My Selection(s) area in error, click the blue arrow directly to the left of the row.

  7. Click the Apply button.

    The specifications lookup page closes, and the new specifications will be added to the Specifications list.

  8. Click the Save button.

    Your changes are saved.

ClosedModify Specification

To modify a specification record for an inventory item:

  1. Click the row for the specification you want to modify.

    The Specifications window opens.

  2. Make your changes.

  3. Click the Apply button.

    The window closes.

  4. Click the Save button.

    Your changes are saved.

ClosedRemove Specification

To remove a specification record for an inventory item:

  1. Click the check box to the left of the specification record you want to remove.

    A check mark appears, indicating the record has been selected.

  2. Continue to select any additional specification records you want to remove.

  3. Click the Remove button.

    The specification is removed.

  4. Click the Save button.

    Your changes are saved.

ClosedAlternate Items

The Alternate Items section of the Related Info page lists all alternate items that can be ordered in the event the item is unavailable. 

ClosedField Descriptions

The following fields are displayed on the Alternate Items page. The alternate items are organized by category in this list.

  • Part ID — ID of the alternate inventory item

  • Part Name — name of the alternate inventory item

ClosedAdd an alternate item

To add an alternate inventory item:

  1. Click the Add button above the Alternate Items section.

    A window opens.

  2. Locate the item you want to add.

  3. Click the item you want to add.

    The item is added to the My Selection(s) area of the window.

  4. Continue selecting additional items as needed.

    To remove a record that has been added to the My Selection(s) area in error, click the blue arrow directly to the left of the row.

  5. Click the Apply button.

    The window closes. The new items are added to the Alternate Items list. Each item is listed underneath its category.

  6. Click the Save button.

    Your changes are saved.

ClosedRemove an alternate items

To remove alternate inventory items:

  1. Select the check box to the left of the item you want to remove. 

    A check mark appears, indicating the record has been selected.

  2. Continue to select any additional records you want to remove.

  3. Click the Remove button.

    The alternate inventory item is removed.

  4. Click the Save button.

    Your changes are saved.
